QUICK FIX TIPS
If your filter is in the bottom of the furnace and you changed it recently, try removing the panel for filter access and putting it back on. It may not have set the door safety switch.
If you have a digital thermostat and furnace is acting erratically, try changing the batteries and make sure there is good contact on battery terminals.
If you have a Heat Pump, there are usually 2 sets of fuses, one for the unit and one for the auxiliary heat strips. If heat works ok during the day but not well at night,, the fuse for the strips might be out. Most hardware stores can test fuses and carry replacements.
COULD IT BE A TRIPPED BREAKER?
Many circuit breakers only trip one side and don’t look like they are tripped at all. The fastest way to test is to turn the breaker off, then press the handle hard to the off side, and hold for 30 to 60 seconds. Then reset the breaker firmly back to the ON position. There is a catch inside the breaker that must connect in order for it to reset. Simply flipping a breaker back on like a light switch will rarely reset it.
